Online Safety

At Brackenhill, we work with Parents, Carers and the school community to make sure that the awareness of the values of Online Safety are shared. Below there are lots of links to useful websites that can guide you through keeping your children safe online.

Online Safety Parents' Workshop 2018

On Thursday 10th May, nearly 20 parents came to see our KS2 children perform in an online safety drama production and also to listen to Samia Arif (our online safety PCSO) talk about how we can keep our children safe online. All of the parents and carers who attended were amazed by both the performance and also left feeling more confident in helping their children navigate the online world safely.

Mrs Shah, parent of a Y3 child said, "I totally recommend other parents to attend these session, I learnt a lot from Samia. It was shocking but it will be helpful for me to know about the apps that my child uses and how to keep her safe."

Online Safety Day 2018

On Tuesday 6th February, we had Online Safety Day at Brackenhill Primary School. During the day, we had lessons in classes helping us understand how we can make the internet a better place. We completed jigsaw pieces in class, which have gone on a whole-school display to show how the internet connects us all. There was also a competition to design a Brackenhill Online Safety Mascot. The entries were fantastic and showed just how much we had learnt about using the internet safely. The winner from Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage was Safiyah in Oak and from Key Stage 2 it was Sarina in Rowan.

Well done everybody!
