This week in Nursery, we have been looking at the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’ in literacy. The children have been looking at different ways to design and make the gingerbread man – in the playdough area they have been using scented playdough and autumnal natural resources such as conkers and twigs, as well as match sticks and buttons to create him, looking at different sizes and details to add. In the arts and crafts area they have been exploring colour mixing to paint the gingerbread man, and using craft materials to explore adding textures and 3D details. The children have loved learning all about the gingerbread man and his misadventures whilst he tried to escape from everyone trying to eat him!
