This week in Nursery in the water area the children have been learning all about filling and emptying a variety of containers. The children have been working together and talking about which ones are full, empty and nearly full. They have been practising using funnels and beakers to transfer and pour, whilst comparing amounts of water. They have had lots of fun doing this!
In the sand area the children have been exploring volume and capacity using different sized sand castle containers. The children have been adding water to the dry sand to see how this affects making a sand castle, as well as considering the weight of each container with the sand in. They have been very busy!
